Workshops for Teachers
Printing and Cursive Writing: A physical perspective
This is a 2 hour professional workshop for Teachers provided by an experienced Pediatric Occupational Therapist. The workshop includes an overview of the mechanisms required for writing, pencil grasp development and approaches used for teaching printing and cursive writing. Space is limited to 5 teachers per workshop. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance and handout package.
Next workshop date: Tuesday April 3rd, 2011 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
Fee: $80.00 before March 12th, 201 or $99.00 after March 12th, 2011.

- Systems involved in writing/printing (physical and neurological)
- Pre-printing and introduction to upper case letters
- Upper case letters and lower case letters
- Words and sentences
- Written expression
- Scissor skills
- Visual perception (including copying from the blackboard)
- Visual-motor integration
